Day 97 – soft bangle!

by Shannon

I just had to do it. Really! I hate to waste and had to find another way to use my remnants. I’m down to about 2 feet of red and white now so I’m almost there and I get a very quiet bangle bracelet. I think there is still some plum waiting in the bin, that might be a good experiment for our week at Zoo camp!

Day 96 – pompom boa

by Shannon

The pompom scarves are too bulky and heavy when you use the entire ball. I have leftovers in 4 different colors. After finishing yesterday’s scarf inspiration struck! Use them together!
The green has a bit of sparkle too it, the white is flat. Together I think they might be the perfect Beaver hockey accessory! Now to hide it from my kids…

Day 95 – improving the pattern

by Shannon

My original Pom-Pom type scarves followed the manufacturer’s pattern. Well, mostly anyway…
This red scarf is a different brand with closer spacing. I doubled the number of chains, which then doubled the number of loops. I like this new version because it feels so much more plush and luxe!
As the great man once said, “I love it when a plan comes together!” 🙂

Day 94 – fairy house #2

by Shannon

You have to know that in my house you’re going to need to give your fairies CHOICES!!!
This one is covered in birch bark, with silk rose petals on the roof and moss “grass” that my girls found for me. I have one more option planned, but we need to find some trimmings for a tree in somebody else’s yard… On another note, I set this little cutie on the book shelf – right in front of my favorite photo. Then I cried for 5 minutes as I thought of the reaction the people in the photo would have had on my crazy creations… In the photo I’m sitting between my maternal grandparents in my wedding dress, with a bouquet in front of my face. Gramp is looking down at me, grinning at my antics (they wouldn’t let me stop to eat..) while Grandma giggles. Here I go again…
be thankful for the people who love you!

Day 93 – fairy house #1

by Shannon

We have been planning on making fairy houses for months. I have pine needles, moss, birch bark and assorted twigs that the girls have been collecting for me. We’ll end up with our own Pixie Hollow by the time we use up all of out supplies!
House # 1 has a roof of faux maple leaves and real moss on the walls with a wood base. Sitting next to it is B’s big house. It’s embellished with birchbark, moss faux flowers. She’s learning how to use a hot glue gun!

Day 92 – abstract t-shirt flower

by Shannon

We’re working on cleaning the house for a showing tomorrow AND packing up all my art supplies to move into my new shop at the same time. Needless to say, my I am frustrated that everything is not immediately within reach.
I made this little flower out of a former t-shirt. The stitching is a spiral in the middle with a gathered outside edge.
